The Research Of Self-reference

Since the 20th century, western of literary theory and school was colorful and formalism language was considered important. The Russian formalism, The British and American new criticism and structuralism have impact a great influence. The various concepts involved has already been clearly defined, such as "Literariness" and "Defamiliarization". But there is a concept has not been fully developed and defined that is "Self-reference". Self-reference is closely related with many theories of formalism. But it has not been paid enough attention, this is a big vacancy. This concept has vagueness and is blurred with other theories.Seeing from the status of present research, the question of self-reference needs well worth further study. In order to clear the concept of self-reference, this article introduces self-reference from a multidisciplinary perspective and clears the connections with all sorts of ideas and theories, that is not just limited to a field or a narrow aspect. It has both theoretical and practical meaning. As an organizing principle of literature text, self-reference exists in Chinese text and it is related to the characteristics of Chinese. By returning to the literary texts of the analysis can make self-reference vivid. The introduction of self-reference in literature can make the system of the theory more distinct, but also has referent meaning to the criticism of literature and literary creation. This thesis is a comprehensive study of self-reference. We hope this thesis can balance the study and research at home and abroad and narrow the gap of the relevant field at home.
