Since Piaget and Inhelder, on children’s spatial cognition research has been the focus of researchers. Researchers use different experimental paradigms and methods on children’s egocentric coding and allocentric coding. In previous studies, the researchers are studies in egocentric coding to the allocentric coding transformation age trends, and not discuss on the allocentric coding, therefore the research conclusion has many inconsistencies. On the basis of the previous research results, the individual measurement method, study the5-9children’s spatial reference system development characteristics, and the allocentric reference system development characteristics of a more detailed study and discussion. This study included a total of three experimental tasks, three experimental tasks are passed to the children presenting with pictures, let the children from a given image in spatial reference frame selection task. Experiment1investigated5-8years old children in rotary model task, egocentric reference frame and allocentric reference system development characteristics, trends and possible influencing factors. Experiment2investigated5-9old children in the concept of level of task in allocentric reference system development characteristic, namely intrinsic reference system and the absolute reference system development characteristics, trends and possible influencing factors. Experiment3investigated5-9years old children in vertical concept allocentric reference system development characteristic, namely intrinsic reference system and the absolute reference system development characteristics, trends and possible influencing factors.Through the above three experimental tasks of research, this study reached the following conclusions:(1) The complete spatial reference task, different age groups of children on spatial reference frame selection are significantly different. The relative reference frame and the intrinsic frame of reference task, four age groups of children are shown from the relative reference frame to the intrinsic reference frame transformation trend of development, namely in different age groups of children showed from the egocentric reference frame to the allocentric reference frame transformation trend. (2) In the spatial reference frame selection model rotation task, along with the growth of the age, more and more children to use allocentric reference frame.(3) In not using the egocentric reference frame of the concept of level and vertical concept task (i.e., using only the allocentric reference frame), children’s spatial reference frame selection show consists of the intrinsic reference frame selection to the absolute reference frame selection into the trend of development. According to the task requirements, higher age group had more children can correctly select the use of absolute reference system.(4) In the allocentric reference frame selection task,9years of age is composed of the intrinsic frame of reference to absolute reference frame transformation period of rapid development.(5) Experimental conditions affect children spatial reference frame selection.(6) In the spatial frame of reference task, depending on the sex of the children did not show differences in the choice of the reference system.
