This paper mainly takes an ancient village called Cangpo which located in Yongjia County in Wenzhou as a case, from the perspective of culture space, synthetically used synchronism and diachronism to focus on the transmission of the clan culture space, belief culture space and geomantic culture space, and combined with the present protection conditions about culture space in this village under the context of the Intangible Cultural Heritage to explore a certain of the feasibility protective measures on the basis of reading historical documents and large amounts of data by field work.The thesis is divided into five chapters:Chapter I is an introduction, chiefly describes the significance of this paper, Studies Review about ancient villages and Nanxijiang River Basin, research methods, Cangpo profile, and the term limitations on the use of "culture space".Chapter II focuses on changes about the symbolic Clan Culture space——li's family Ancestral temple and Cangpo Clan culture. Since modern times, the function of li's family Ancestral temple has changed many times, the nineties of last century it was changed to"Yongjia History and Culture Exhibition Museum"till today. Meanwhile, the clan culture of this village also was tardily dying.Chapter III discussed the history of traditional space, changes of the modern function and protection strategies on Renji Temple which represented the sacred space of the village. It traces the godhead of the belief and its generated background, and describes its function changes as Nanxijiang Folk Museum. Through a case about new faith generated, it just discover the possibility of recovering Renji temple's certain traditional functions, although Pingshuiwang belief was the results of the agricultural societies, today there are still some remains among the villagers.Chapter IV concentrates on the geomantic culture space that ignited the design of villagers'public life and the pursuit of their ideals, its heritage and contemporary change, involving the village layout, geomantic symbols, the grave named yizifen, and uses a geomantic landscape change as the case to study the relationships between the public and geomantic in modern society. The village's layout which was named as"Wenfangsibao"represents people's design and pursuit for a better life. However, how to inherit the tradition phenomenology and practice rationally is the main issue before us. The pursuit of the beautiful landscape and maintenance of the village is the common aspiration of the villagers, but also the purpose of geomantic phenomenology.Chapter V is the conclusion of this paper. First of all, it holds the idea that the functions of ancient village named Cangpo which is taken as a traditional culture space are dying, while faces many problems about its development as a modern community. Secondly, the mode of protection of Cangpo culture space should be a structure of trinity, composing by the mode of from the cultural heritage to the tourism resources, pattern of identify and demand, mode of live-state protection. Last but not the least, it owns the view that if we want to make properly protection of the ancient village culture space come true, we need make various efforts, such as the cultivation of citizenship, the construction of regional identity and etc.
