In the unique Tibetan culture, women were regarded as the creator of the world, the earth mother, the patron saint in Tibet. The Buddhist image of the female deities includes a deep understanding of Buddhist doctrine with the meaning of noble, mellow, and sacred symbolism. The situation of the female deities which has lots of shapes and a high status in Tibetan Buddhism is different from other Buddhist countries and regions. It is that the translation of Buddhist scriptures and study has been a great development in Ming Dynasty, and the symbol of female statues is clearly depicted. Therefore, in this paper, it is the images of women and their visual symbol in the paintings of Tibetan Buddhism in the Ming Dynasty that will be explored. I will approach the subject from different angles, such as retrospective view of Tibetan Buddhism, the ideological origins of women's position and value, and through understand the interpretation of the Buddhism goddess and research the complexity inherent in the female culture in Tibetan Buddhism for the possibility of adding new content in Buddhism study.
