Art songs, this vocal music genre which were first born in Germany and Austria are the product of European romantic music in the 19th cehtury. In the western music, the art song is a kind of song which was unified from poetry and music.In China, Chinese art songs apppeared in the early 1920s. There were a number of outstanding composers, such as Wang Kuang-qi (1892-1936), Xiao Youmei (1884-1940), Qing Zhu (1893-1959), Chao Yuen-Ren (1892-1982), Liu Tian-hua (1895-1932), Huang Zi (1904-1938). Among them, Qing Zhu and Huang Zi were the most important repres entices. They made great contribution to the decelipment of China's professional music. They wrote some fine art songs in their own creatice ways.These cormpositions not only hace beautiful melody, but they are also vivid and very particular about the reflection lf beauty and elegance in Chinese poetry. In the form, rhey absorbed something great from the achiecements in Austrian and German avt songs. And at the same time, they promoted the development of traditional Chinese music culture. They created a situation, which was a minture of Eastern and western music culture. They made Chinese art songs a form lf art with Chinese characteristics. They are pioneers of Chinese art songs in Chinese modern music bistorg, and their compositrons are the best in this field.China is a developed country in poetry. The Chinese ancient poetry is a milestone in Chinese literature bistory and it's a cultural product of a specific historic condition. Qing Zhu's and Huang Zi's aesthetic and composing features of their art songs in the form of classic Chinese poems by choosing some of their compositions as examples As a vesult of the limit of the author's theory lrvrl as well as the reseanh soune material, the paper is just intended to study pavt of the two composers ancient poetry art songs. This article is intended to carry on a comparative study of Qing Zhu's and Huang Zi's aesthetic and composing features.
