The Research Of XiangYang And The Eight Famous Writers Of The Tang And Song Dynasty

XiangYang is a famous historic city located by the Hang river. It has long cultural history. Besides, as for its special location, it was set to be the province of Jingzhou in the late Hang. Then it became the province of Shannandao and Shannandongdao in Tang dynasty. It was also the province of Jingxinanlu in Song dynasty. Therefore, there were many distinguished politicians worked in XiangYang and many cultural celebrities traveled in here. In Tang and Song dynasty, there was a literature group called the Eight Famous Writers of Tang and Song. This literature group represented the highest achievement in literary. Some of them worked in the government of XiangYang and helped the XiangYang people directly. Others travelled in XiangYang and visited the places of historic interest and scenic beauty there. They narratived their political achievements, or introduced the celebrities, the anecdotes, the historical sites and so on in their works. Doing the research of the deeds of the Eight Famous Writers of Tang and Song in XiangYang or their masterpieces about XiangYang means a lot, for example, help us to know about their life experiences, their psychology and their friendships, to explore the development of the XiangYang's culture in Tang and Song Dynasty .The historical basement of the Eight Famous Writers of Tang and Song eulogized XiangYang was the politic, the military, the economy and the culture situation. And the themes of their masterpieces were the local places of interests and the beautiful nature scenes. The social environment of Tang and Song was the writers lived. And they wrote according to this background. Two writers of the Eight, Ou Yangxiu and Zeng Gong have been worked in XiangYang, while the other six writers passed by XiangYang many times because of their official changes, for XiangYang was the center of politic and traffic. During that time, the Eight Famous Writers of Tang and Song were touched deeply by everything they saw or knew, so they wrote them down. After leaving XiangYang, asked by someone, or met with friends in XiangYang, they created numbers of masterpieces about XiangYang. And these masterpieces show their thought and the friendship situation. Besides, the masterpieces describe the situation of social life and culture exchanges. The deeds and creations of the Eight Writers served the society well and promoted the heritage of the culture.According to my incompletely statistics, there are 193 pieces of articles about XiangYang wrote by the Eight Famous Writers of Tang and Song. In them, there are 118 pieces poem, 6 pieces of Ci and 69 pieces of articles. As there are quite a quantity of articles written in the Literati gathering, the writers may eulogize the same thing. They may use the same literary quotation. Thus I selected one or several typical and represented articles to analyze.
