| Since the movie was invented, horror movies had achieved excellent box office records with the low cost production in Hollywood. Horror movie has become one of Hollywood producer's favorites. Horror movie unitizes scary scenes to clear people's mind and it created pressure to let its audience relax. People release anxiety and pain inside through experiencing the thrill of watching the horror movie.As Hollywood horror movie evolves, the bloody and ugly ghost dominated characters gradually have been transformed into the ordinary people in our daily life. At the same time the children character with na?ve face appears more and more in the horror movies and their fragile frame becomes the evil's destination .The author of the thesis is very interested in the children's roles in the Hollywood horror movie. Therefore, the children character in the horror movie was chosen for discussion in this thesis. The methods of literature research and qualitative analysis are employed to interpret the Hollywood horror movie history, the emerging children character and associated horror effects, and to uncover the underneath reason of high appearing frequency of children characters and its connection to the phenomena of adult animation trend of children. The author intends to fill the gap in this field to provide the reference for the researchers in the future. |
