Among the splendid literatural history of China, the f鑝ule literature occupies an important position. The prostitute literatuiy, just as a kind of elegant, plain flower blossoms in the garden of the female literal tire, is a Sl)CCial f)IICI1O11 ieiioii in chinese literature. Xuetao and Wcnwan rcprcseiited the hii~hest level of?it during the Tang and Song Dynasties. By analysing their UflCVCfl Iifc exl)crience, the diiThi-ent contents and styles of their poems, I expect to uiiveil their rich and active inner world, to undcrst~uid their lives, their state of minds and their souls private words. They lived in ditl鑢ent dynasty, their tragic lots were superisely alike: both of them were born in good fiuiiihies, their fiithers died early, I hen their fiimily financial situation dechiiied, niother and daughter depended on each other fur survival, finally forced to be prostitutes by the reality life, both of?them owned beautiful looks and great skills, and both of them had buy and aloof?characters, had tragic endings. Certain differences between the 慺ang and the Song societies existed in the fields of political background, ideological consiousness and f)crSonal mentality etc. During the Tang Dynasty, as a result of enlightened politics and ideology, peoples aesthetic feeling was strong, while the people during the Song Dynasty was controlled by a feudal orthodox ideas led by the less p抩speriuus nation and the popuktr confucian school of idealist philosophy. So their poems showed not only the same at the aspectS of personality, content and style, that was, both of them had holly sentiment, strong personality, challenging talent and elegant style, but aslo some differences: Xuetao was extrovert and frank whose poems were full of rich contents and plain words, while Wcnwan was introvent and implicit whose poems were tilled with implying contents and thought fib me~uiint~s. As a special outcome at a special society, the poems of Xuetao and Wenwan had a special significance, they deserve us to hace a further discuss and research...
