The Context Analysis In Pragmatic Translation

It is a great progress that today's pragmatic translation theory applies thepragmatic function of language into translation. The theory wisely thinks that it is thepragmatic meaning that the translator should seek to provide a faithful target version.However, the insufficiency of the theory leaves far more important factors and natureunproved. This present thesis intends to give a further study on this theory.In a dynamic standpoint, this paper makes an effort to offer a new perspective ofpragmatic translation theory. The new proposal aims at the importance of contextanalysis in the process of translation, and the influence of context on the meaningunderstanding and defining. The author traces back the studies on context both inwestern and eastern field in the early time, to provide a thorough sketch ofcontextualistics theory. Then to begin with the definition and the classification ofcontext, the author makes a very specific study of the properties and functions ofcontext in language using. Through analyzing a group of practical examples, theauthor clearly reinforces these very functions of context influences on thetranslation's meaning understanding and defining.
