This dissertation descnbes the communication failures in the intercultural communication. These failures derive from cultural differences between people. People from different cultures have different beliefs, values, attitudes and world views. In intercultural communication, people may use their own cultural values, beliefs and attitudes to understand others who have different cultural backgrounds. This incredibly leads to communication failures. These failures mainly reflect in the following three aspects: cultural modes, verbal behaviors and nonverbal behaviors. Therefore, in foreign languages teaching, we should not only pay attention to the foreign language itself, but also pay attention to the cultural differences between the native language and the target language. That is to say, we should integrate culture teaching with foreign language teaching. In this way can we help students to reduce their mistakes to the minimum in their foreign language learning.
