| There was plague everywhere in the history and it brought grave misery. In Late Qing Dynasty, the society of Guangdong was experiencing a jumpy transformation, while the epidemic ran more and more rampant in this period. It is very significant to study such issue. Based on the research on the plague of Guangdong in Late Qing Dynasty, this thesis reveals the features and causes of the plague and at the same time, the responses and consequences are also probed. The plague is the result of comprehensive action of natural and social environment. It reflects the vicissitude of ecology; vice versa it affects indigenous ecological system. |
