Although 《SongShu》 and 《NanShi》 wwere completed during different periods : the former during the Middle Chinese period (the Wei jin Dynasties and the Northern and Southern Dynasties ) and the latter during the Modern Chinese period ( the Tang Dynasties ) , the contents contained in both books are closelyrelated to each other ---- the record of Liusong history in《NanShi》was finished by means of the amplification and omission of the historical facts contained in ({SongShu}} . The different ages imply that both books made use of different narrative languages and modes to describe the law of language and modes to describe the same historical events , And the evolutional law of language is concealed in this "discrepancy". Though the comparison of the different characteristics between the Middle Chinese and the Modern Chinese, and the generalization and analysis of the 2,304 different points in the two books . This paper tries to grasp the line of language development from the Weijin Dynasties and the Northern and Southern Dynasties to the early Tang Dynasty mainly from the perspective of characters and phrases . Hence , it will enable us to letter clarify the changing process of the mid-ancient Chinese character and phrase systems and subsequently to enrich the study of the history of Chinese language .
