Discussion On Fu Sinian's Literary Thought In May 4th Movement

In the early years of 20 century, a number of outstanding literary giants emerged during the big revolution for-breaking with old literature to build up new democratical literature. They made a great contribution to forming the modern literature and the country advanced. Fu Sinian was one of the famous giants. In the thesis, we first take a systematic analysis of Fu s literary revolutionary thought, view of writing in vernacular, reform of writing system and the thought of plays and new poems. Then compare Fu's thought and view with some literary giants'in the same time, such as Chen Duxiu, Lu Xun, Hu Shi, Qian Xuantong, Liu Bannong, Zhou Zuoren, and so on. A summary of the literary view in the May 4th movement can be clearly made. Fu Sinian was acknowledged that he made a greater contribution in old literary revolution to find new literature. His view was more scientific and constructive so that he blazed new trails at that time.He was a key initiator of building up new literature in the time of the May 4th movement and really performed immortal great deeds for Chinese modern literature.
