The western literary criticism of feminism is a part of the new language of the feminism which rose at the end of 1960s. It belongs to both an organic part of criticism of the feminism and the western literary and artistic aesthetics which composes of a variety of methods of aesthetics and schools of aesthetics. Its appearance shakes the social basis and ideological sense on which Westerners rely for existence, and becomes a famous study of the 21st century as one of critical methods.According to Julia Kristeva, the development of theory of the feminism has about three stages: First, it lays emphasis on equality of the sexes; then, on differences of the sexes; and the last, it advocates that the theory of the male sex can be disintegrated by itself, and encourages a pluralistic coexistence. The article emphatically talks about main characteristics of the Anglo-American School and the French School and a comparison between the two schools. The Anglo-American School comparatively attaches importance to summing up experiences from practice, lays stress on literary traditions of the female sex itself, and devotes itself to three aspects: A) Reexamination of the history of literature from the angle of the female sex. Anglo-American critics of feminism query the validity of those traditional critical ways and values. They advocate that a new history of literature of the female sex should be rewritten. Virginia Woolf has put forward in her famous work A Room for One's (hvn the "Androgyny" concept and the problem of female "aphasia". B) Study on aesthetics of feminism. New Anglo-American feminism advocates to criticize and surmount the standard of aesthetics of "Androgyny", and initiates praise of female culture and female aesthetics. C) Study on theory of sexes. Virginia Woolf makes an appeal to female writers that they should create a new language under the language circumstances of the "aphasia", and revise and deform the present language in order that it can become a natural pattern to fit their own thought. She also encourages a kind of "little language" that can effectively fill up fill up the "split" and "gaps" left by males. This is a kind of split and reorganization of language order, it can get a new life of name and symbol to break through the language ways of the theory of patriarchy. The French school lays stress on theory of reason. The way is thoroughly an abstract thought and discrimination. The core of the theory of French feminism mainly shows itself in three aspects: A) Establishing an equality of the two sexes in the literary symbol. Owing to the subordinate status of the female sexunder the traditional language circumstances of the patriarchy and the fact of its "the other", "absence" and "silence", Julia Kristeva attempts to use symbology to destroy the symbol order established by Lacan Phallocen-trism. B) Deconstructing male's center. Jacques Derrida, a French master of Deconstructionism, combines the word 'phallocen-trism' with another word 'logocentrism' to form one compound word - 'phallologocentrism'. The modem society is a society of 'phallologocentrism', and female is its opposite. French literary criticism of feminism synthesizes Linguistics of Deconstructionism, Psychoanalysis (Freudianism), and Society-history Criticism (Marxism), and puts the synthesis into a purpose of subverting culture of the patriarchy. C) Creating female reading and writing system. Findings of the patriarchy logic in text by female literary criticism and its requirement of main body of female readers make it avoid putting emphasis on either the main body or the text. On the contrary, it tries to establish an indirect communication of the main body and the text between readers and the text, reading and writing. That is, an analysis of the text usually needs an exchanging experience between reading and writing. Furthermore, the reading theory of feminism has displayed a reading outlook of writing style, and the writing theory of feminism had displayed a writing study of reading style.About how to free from...
