In the contemporary society, where global economy and culture transmit and have become related to each other it is necessary they also communicate with each other. Surely, when China is reformed more in depth and the communication widens more than it did before, it could not be avoided that business and culture of the West flow into China. In the 80's, Chinese modern art basically was like this: concept and image of traditional art has been given up, while modern art from the West become implanted in Chinese soil. Afterwards it started to relate to current Chinese culture and traditional Chinese painting. In the 90's Chinese Cynical Realism and Pop art started to become compared with the authoritative system of Chinese mainstream art. Meanwhile it attained a great success in the West. There are several reasons for this. Cynical Realism art "s images refer to the daily life and so to the secularization of life as such. The Cynical Realist artists uncover the signification of the works as a sublime escape from daily life, and at the same time dissociating its meaning by referring to mundane living. Chinese Pop Art in the early 90's, described as Living Pop art, has a clear signification and concept. The Gandy Art (from 1995 and later) however turned into a more formalist art. It lacks an avant-garde approach and has no references to daily life anymore. Also it has a Benthamistic and pragmatistic character: being more business oriented to the Western art market.
