A Study On Techniquet Of Rhetoric In Yuxin's Works

Yuxin is an agglomeration of literature in Liuchao Dynasty,he integrate the content and form of his works,this level is highest in Liuchao. So the study about Yuxin always is a focal point in the study of Liuchao literature. People have attained many achievements in the study of the theme and the form of language in Yuxin's works,however,some fields are still neglected,such as rhetoric.The form of literature is better than its content in Liuchao,rhetoric is developed rapidly in this period. As an agglomeration of literature in Liuchao,his works fully reflect the achievement of rhetoric development.This thesis probes into narrow sense rhetoric. Common rhetoric,such as metaphor,antithesis,hyperbole,parallelism etc. was generally applied from Pre-Qin dynasties to Nanbei dynasties. They are not enough to reflect Yuxin's level of applying rhetoric,but several special rhetoric techniques which were exploited in Yuxin's works can do well. They are Chaici,Anastrophe,Shixian,Tonggan,and Zengdong. . ',The first chapter:"Chaic",is a method of the rhetoric which take apart a fixed word in order to strengthen expressive effect. Generally,the meaning of idiomatic phrase or literary quotation are grasped by people,so they do not bring novel sense. After the fastening words was taken apart,they had special contents,supernormal form,so the whole sentence can convey more serious information. Compared with the development of the method of Chaici in later days,we can know Yuxin's contribution to the method of Chaici in his works.The second chapter:There are many models of Anastrophe in Yuxin's works,which all strongly protrude the main information of a sentence. Echoing with Liuxie's theory about Anastrophe,Yuxin's achievement in exploiting Anastrophe becomes an important link in the development of Anastrophe.The third chapter:"Shixian",is a method of rhetoric which can make a lifelike circumstances,it,has three kinds:telling about the past,predicting and fancying,all of which can be found in Yuxin's works. Yuxin are especially good at the third,he directly describes the object and sheds the subjective so as to concentrate on expressing the most intense feeling. This methodenlightens the poets of Tang Dynasty,who got great achievement by it.The fourth chapter:Tonggan.Yuxin has definite intention to positively practice this method and gets great achievement. Under the background of poems about brandishing sword and playing qin in Tang Dynasty,we should have a better understanding to Yuxin'method of Tonggan.The fifth chapter:"Zengdong",is a method of rhetoric to give reader lively sense by polishing verb. Generally,the focus of a sentence lies in the part of predicate. To a large extent,expressive effect depends on the level of trying to find the exact word of predicate or adverbial. Yuxin is very good at the method of Zengdong,whose all-round practice is supported by positive subjective intention. Yuxin' intention and practice bring profound influence to the language of Tang poet.The sixth chapter:the whole influence brought by many methods of rhetoric to the language of Yuxin's works. The methods of rhetoric mentioned make the form of language novel,agile,diverse,make expression accurate,expand sentential load and make it plural meaning.Concluding remarks. Family background,born gift and rough experiences make Yuxin lay stress on applying rhetoric,because unusual emotions need unusual expressive means,which exactly reflects the characteristic of organic unity of form and content. Rhetoric achievement in yuxin'works has special significance during the period of Liuchao which is a important advancing stage in languase,it bring profound and lasting effect to the languase of the poems in Tang Dynasty.
