Based on the life and patriotism of Chen Yuxin,a patriotic Democrat,this paper studies his contributions to the revolution of 1911,the war of resistance against Japan and the construction of new China.No matter in which period,Mr.Chen Yuxin's life always takes national awakening and national rejuvenation as the highest goal.Now according to his life experience can be roughly divided into the following three periods.The first period is when Mr.Chen Yuxin participated in the The revolution of 1911 in Hunan Province.Based on the memoirs of Chen Yuxin,the literature combined with local chronicles and scholars' research to explore the changes of political situation during the The revolution of 1911 in Hunan Province.His main activities in this period were centered around secret society in Hunan and revolutionary party.The establishment of his life goal was formed in this period,and was positively influenced by Hunan culture.It was an attempt of modern Hunan people to explore the way of national salvation.The second period is Chen Yuxin experience of saving the nation from the Sino-Japanese War and pursuing democracy during the period of the Republic of China.Taking Chen Yuxin's military career as the main line,this paper explores the formation,development and ideological source of Chen Yuxin's military thought of the Sino-Japanese War.During his study at Military College,Chen Yuxin compiled two books,The series of World wars and Propagandaschlacht,to publicize the theory of total war.After graduation,Mr.Chen returned to Hunan to preside over military education,and educated the grass-roots officers and soldiers and the people in Hunan with the theory of general war for many times.In the process of understanding the theory of total war,Mr.Chen gradually completed the transformation from focusing on spiritual national defense to advocating the establishment of national defense economy.In his military theory,the ultimate goal is to save the nation from the war of resistance,whether it is the overall war concept or the actual tactical theory.The third period is Chen Yuxin's work experience and contribution in cultural undertakings after the founding of the people's Republic of China.After the founding of the people's Republic of China,Mr.Chen presided over the work of the cultural relics management committee of Hunan Province(hereinafter referred to as the Hunan Cultural Administration Committee).After the founding of the people's Republic of China,he began to preside over the main work of Hunan Provincial Council of cultural administration and made great contributions to Hunan's cultural undertakings in the early days of the founding of the people's Republic of China.During the period from 1950 to 1957,the Hunan Cultural Administration under his leadership basically completed the protection of cultural relics in the early stage of socialism,laying a foundation for the development of Hunan's cultural undertakings.
