Relationship Between Fresco And Architectural Space

The spatial relationship between fresco and architecture is so much complex. The entity shared by both fresco and architectural space, the mobility of fresco in architecture and the effect on enjoyers' psychology, are analyzed in this dissertation,I. The entity shared by both fresco and architecture. Fresco differs from common paintings, because it only exists attached to certain architecture. This quality results in the relationship of entity between fresco and architecture. The entity is reflected in practice as the relationship between fresco artist and architect.II. The mobility of fresco in architecture. The particularity of architectural space is that it must be with an enjoyer's motion that he can master the continuity, harmony and mobility of architecture spatial layers. The mobility of fresco in architecture just results from this particularity. Besides, artists produce the mobility of fresco by means of structure of "Tendentious Tension", collimation error, and psychological effect.III. Fresco's effect on the enjoyers' psychology. The architectural space also takes effect on enjoyers' psychology. Fresco is often placed on the most important part of certain architecture, and easy to be centre of people's vision, resulting in the effect of "field". This is just the reason for the effect on enjoyers' psychology. This "field" takes effect on enjoyers mainly through the contents, forms, material quality of a certain copy of fresco.
