| With the initiation and development of socialism reform in every area of economy, politics and culture since late 1970s, the society of China has been gradually stepping into a new, overall transitional period. The value concepts are unsteady in this period, within which various concepts are changing, conflicting and colliding with one another more intensely and are much more complicated, compared with those in the normal, stable period. The changes of the value concepts in this transitional period of contemporary China are developing among the relationships such as the following three pairs of terms: the first, man and material; the second, individual and collective; and the third, offer and demand. These terms make up the basic track of the change and development of the value concepts in this period. The changes featured as below: a) the individualization of value subject; b) the realization of aims; c) variation of choices; d) relativity of criteria. Generally speaking, the change of people's value concepts nowadays characterize in extensive, profound, contradictory and unsteady features.It is the co-influence and co-work among many factors that make people's value concepts change so fiercely. First, the historical tradition concept. Faced the reform with great transformation and the profound social transition today, Chinese traditional value concepts, featured in entiretism, "interests after loyalty" and "ego-nationality the center", have enconfronted acute conflicts and attacks inevitably, and naturally become the historical standards for people's profoundly changed concept. Second, inner factors. Since the structural shifts of new and old systems in nowadays China natured with quick mobility, inefficient regulation and less clarity, the social affairs have become more complicated for people to observe and harder for society to macro regulate and control. The shift is the process in which the lattice of social interests are being readjusted and the gradually formed lattice make different-interests individuals show clear differences and even fiercely conflict on value concepts. The historical process of Chinese modernization and construtural shift interlaced, which intensified the change of value concepts. And third, outer conditions. After being embraced and transformed by the Chinese people in the special social environment of China, the western culture and value concepts, With their clear characteristics, such as profitility, individualness, competition and multility,etc., made profound effects and attacks on Chinese traditional value concepts Therefore, it is very urgent that new value concept be constructed in time, in order to make it a full, strong, sensitive template. Of the construction of new value concept, viewed from the theorical strategy, the following should be grasped: a. We should hold a correct attitude to the conflict and blendation of Chinese and western cultures and value concepts. We should inherit and bring on the essence of our traditional culture, b. We should treat the collectivism, the dominant value concepts dialectically. In the social transitional period, it is necessary to advocate the collectivism, our dominant value concepts, which is coincident with the progress of social development, however, the collectivitism we advocate today should be grasped to the aspects of the co-living and animating between the individual and the collective, the individual and society, c. We should not only rely on the social subject but also go beyond the concern to social reality. In the social traditional period, the construction of new value concepts should be based on the reality of social life, through the change of which the "flash water",the new ingredients and nutrientsshould be added, the leading and setting force of the value aims and ideals should be intensified to enhance people's life favor and quality.
