A Research On Vulgar Ci-Verse Of Tang And Song Dynasty

Vulgar ci-verse rarely-studied field in the history of ci-verse.This paper intends to explore the general situation of vulgar ci-verse in Tang and Song Dynasty and its aesthetic value.Works of vulgar ci-verse are composed of two major parts:folk vulgar ci-verseand and those written by literatis.As far as time is concerned,vulgar ci-verse can be divided into two sections:Tang Dynasty,Five-dynasty period and Song Dynasty.Dunhuang ci-verse is a kind of folk ci-verse in Tang and Five-dynasty period.It's rich in content and simple in style,reflecting the simple feature of ci-verse at its preliminary age.Those common erotic ci-verse by literatis in Tang and Five-dynasty period can also be seen as vulgar ci-verse.With the emergence of cities and the prosperity of entertainment industry in Song Dynasty,vulgar ci-verse which should have been more than that in Tang and Five-dynasty period,are less in quantity than Dunhuang ci-verse due to their missing in the history .However ,as for the existing works,the content is also rich and humour style a character of it.Works of vulgar ci-verse written by literatis in Song Dynasty are rather popular.Vulgar ci-verse are mostly produced particularly by such ci-verse writers as LiuYong,SuShi,XinQiji and so on.In terms of its content,those vulgar ci-verse written by literatis in Song Dynastycan be divided into three classifications:love ones,banter ones and those of criticizing the current situation.Ci-verse,in nature is the production of such entertainment as singing,and dancing falling into the category of popular literature.however ,ci-verse becomes more and more elegant since it's accepted by scholars.While vulgar ci-verse has all along maintained the original popular feature:the purpose is to entertain and enjoy oneself and reflectscitizen's emotions and taste.The content does not concern about the traditional serious and significant subjects. Even if they take such subjects,they also use the viewpoint of disintegrate.Considering about theirartistic style,vulgar ci-verse is unchained and frank,humorous and funny,which meets the taste of popular mass.It is quite different from theintroverted and exquisite characteristics of elegant literature.literatis choice of vulgar ci-verse in Song Dynasty also reflects their special state of mind.Placed on the whole history of literature,vulgar ci-verse follows the tradition of Yuefu in Han Dynasty and foik songs in Six-dynasty period ,and it opens the door for Qu-verse.
