| Treatise on Superfluous Things is a work on Scattered Jottings by the literati Wen Zhenheng in Late Ming Dynasty.From the view point of view of "Wu",such as room,utensil,location,flowers and wood,utensils,clothing and food,etc.He constructed a daily narrative model integrating micro narrative paradigm and literati aesthetic taste,it presents the characteristics of completeness,systematization and living.It is an encyclopedia of the daily life and aesthetic interest of literati in the late Ming dynasty.In the specific study,the author founds that the writing of literati in the Late Ming Dynasty represented by Treatise on Superfluous Things showed unprecedented importance and concern for "Wu"."Wu" constitute the important characteristics of social life and aesthetic fashion in the Late Ming Dynasty.The fashion direction of consumption logic,the secularization of traditional view of "Wu" and the popularity of literati living writing,together,they promoted the spectacle of "Wu" in the context of the Late Ming Dynasty.Under the influence of superfluous things,there are many characteristics of literati’s aesthetic taste in Late Ming Dynasty.It presents an aesthetic perception system based on"Wu",taking ’Xian" as the aesthetic purpose,and with "Ya" as the aesthetic realm.The creation of this aesthetic interest has a realistic meaning of the area,it points to individuals,to society,and to Late Ming politics.The paper consists of three parts:The first part of the thesis mainly discusses the Late Ming context of the fashion of"Wu" Treatise on Superfluous Things is defined as "Scattered Jottings" by the Si Ku Quan Shu.The birth of this writing represents the great importance and new thinking of literati on the value of "Wu" in the Late Ming Dynasty.The emphasis on "Wu" is actually the concern and discovery of the individual’s life value.Different from the traditional Confucianism,the Late Ming culture is guided by the logic of commodity consumption,the secularization of traditional "Wu" and the interest of literati,the free spirit and aesthetic ideal are projected in the daily life closely related to the subject.The second part of the thesis focuses on the formation and characteristics of literati’s aesthetic taste under the fashion of "Wu".In the Treatise on Superfluous Things,the author made an objective discussion on "Wu".From the tiny point of view of "Wu" the aesthetic experience of literati is no longer limited to the traditional classical aesthetic mode of the Confucian tradition,namely,the spiritual experience is the main and the material feeling is absent.It is to satisfy emotional and aesthetic spiritual demands through daily and sensual material experiences.In the scattered "Wu" system,there is a subject aesthetic world which is relative to "Wu".He reposed artistic taste,aesthetic interest and personality ideal by the spiritual core of appreciating and playing.The third part of the paper focuses on the practical significance of the aesthetic taste of the literati.The literati in the late Ming Dynasty constructed an aesthetic system centered on "Wu" which actually reflected the realistic ideal and sustenance of the aesthetic subject.In the special historical time and space in the Late Ming Dynasty,this aesthetic taste distinguishes between the "refined and vulgar",the identity of literati and businessmen,the personal living space and the social public space.It shows the anxiety and responsibility of the traditional upper literati on the gradual disappearance of the boundary between elegance and vulgarity,scholars and business,public and private. |
