This dissertation observes the gentries' efforts on supporting family keeping local stability and showing charities by probing into a case.the three generations' family and social life in a historic situation in the early Qing Dynasty and also studies their colorful life styles to inquire into the historical changes of the attitudes towards the new state from hostility,revolt,acquiesce to cooperation and the social origins. The dissertation refers that these gentries carried forward the good Chinese traditions that they were willing to have the moral pursuit and to bear the social responsibilities as well.But the differences between the two sides were expressed in a focalized way that as an individual the gentries lived distinctively but as a whole they must cooperate with the Qing Dynasty for the moral pursuit,social responsibilities,dictatorical ruling,traditional confirming the state power,the gentry effects and so on.
