Study On Zhangheng's Creation Of Verse

The achievement of Zhangheng in the Eastern Han Dynasty is mainly in Fu and poetry. Both Han Fu and poetry are literary works expressed in the form of rhyme, i.e. verse. Therefore, the research with the subject of a study on Zhangheng's creation of verse is basically the criticizm of Zhangheng's achievement in literature.With the view of integration and development, this thesis starts with the subject of literary creation and addresses to the two major aspects: the psychology in the creation of verse and the cultural character of verse. It then tries to analyze the art of Zhangheng's verse, laying stress on "image" and "tonality of language". Zhangheng's verse occupies an important place in Chinese literary history and exerts a profound impact on literary creation in later ages. In the last part the paper makes a summary based on the former discussion.This thesis tries to discuss Zhangheng's verse as thoroughly as possible, with the goal that it will cause further study on the subject in the circle of literary criticizm, so that a fuller and more scientific understanding of the literary history with Zhangheng's creation will be achieved.
