Xinjiang stands on the Silk Road, which brought about economic and cultural exchanges. Beginning from the 10th century when Islamism was introduced , Arabic culture and Central Asian culture began to have a strong influence on Uygur's religions architecture. Islamic architecture was built first in Qarakhanid dynasty .With the spread of Islam, Islamic architecture of Uygurs people had experienced such historical period: 1 .The formation period. During the rules of the Qarakhanid dynasty, a number of mosques and Islamic institutions had been built; on the holy war ground, mazar groups were seen everywhere. Geographical distributions of mazar were initially formed at that time. 2. The development period. With the unification of religion, Islamic architecture spread fast. The hoja family prompted mazar worship. 3. The climax period. In the Qing dynasty, there were most typical famous mosques, Islamic institution and mausoleum were built or repaired at that time. Islamic architecture of Uygur had own style, which was different from that of Hui. 4.The Successive development period. Uygur people created own Islamic architecture system that plays an important role in Chinese Architecture history.The paper concludes the restrictive factors and social function of Islamic architecture.This author seeks to the law of evolvement of Islamic architecture in Xinjiang and understands the religious feelings of Uygur people and appeals the government to protect and repair the historical relics. Therefore, we could see their values in the fields of construction and culture and tourism.
