| The appearance of the "Traditional Chiness Painting" Shocked both the scholars and the common people. Everybody passes different judgements on the work and different people has different views. But both the scholars and the readers mention the "Painting" and the "Revelation" in the same breath. However, up till now, still no one has completely analyzed and compared the theme and the aes-theitc valul between the two works. This text attempts to give the "Painting" objective appraisal.There are specific politics and literature in specific historial periods. Politics and literature are a kind of "call - reply" relationship, which shows that one side makes calls and the other side must make reply, including agreement, negation and inhospitality. Two works both appeared in ealy the period of thd society transition ?The "Reveation"appeared in early 20th century,in which the main conflict was between the foreign capitalist and Chinese nation,and the feudal society was riddled with gaping wounds. The ruler couldn't defend the foreign inwaders and had a deep contradiction with the people. The "Painting"appeared in later 20th century, in which there was no sharp society conlicts, but arose some ugly soical phenomenon because of the relative backward of the law construction. Two works both fulfiled thd demand of the sotiety, making a denial response to the politic The "revelation" reveals the conflicts between the imperialism and the Chinese nation, the faudal ruler and the people, especially reveals the darkness of the officialdom, and anticipates the necessity of the breakdown of the feudalism. The "Painting" reveals the nature and the atmosphere of the bureaucratism of the present society,the traditional man ruled goverment in political system and the formation of the concrete system; it reveal the essential the governors pursued and shows the lavatorial spirit situation of the present national people. In a word,two works both are explosiveliterature--the"painting"reveals the sharp society conflicts while the other revealsthe realistic society. The main ideas of them both are vivid and impressive.Then let's make a comparation of the aesthetic values between the two works. Form the construction,the upsand downs of Zhu Haijing's politics is the main topic in the "Painting"and the love story of Zhu Haijing and Mei Yuqin is the subordinate topic. The "Painting"describes the physical and mental existence state of the people from varies classes under the ascendance. Its narration extends lengthways according to the development of the plot. There is no chapter or section, which shows a vigour of writing off. While in the "Revelation"there is no clue or protagonist,but it's a long fiction,consisting of several short stories. It is a chain--structure thatpeople (thing)derives people (thing) .adopting the style of chapter. From the composing fashion,"Painting"is neo-realistic,showing the perfect integration of social appe'arance and hearty exploitation. It endows the fiction with profound moral and adds imaginary feather to the fiction with dream. "Revelation"is traditional realism, which is coincident with traditional view of reflection. The reality the anthor revealed is just records of it .without reflecting the common people's thoughts in the changing age. Nicknames of the characters are vivid and stress their characteristics. From the narration,"Painting"produces the effects of narrating the seperate plots, power and violence. "Revelation"narrates plainly according to the developmert of the plots. From the characters,although few characters are described in"Painting", everyone is vivid and visual,such as Zhu Haijing,Mei Yuqin,Zeng bi,Li Mingxi.Bu Weizhi,Yuan xiaoqi and so on. However,more characters appear in "Revelation", but are not vivid except Fu Litang and Tong Ziliang. In all,the artistic value of the" Revelation"is less remarkable than the "Painting".Through the comparation,we have got conclusion:"Painting"is a work of profound moral and will be passed down in the history.
