Australia is one of the main countries to which Chinese immigrants move. Chinese Australians have achieved remarkable success in economic area, cultural area and etc since 1980s. These are closely related with the multicultural policies in Australia. Firstly, this thesis analyzes the multicultural policies in Australia comprehensively such as their connotation, reasons, characteristics, meaning and limit. Secondly, the thesis expounds the policies' active effect towards the development of the Chinese Australian economy and culture. Lastly, the thesis lists and analyzes Chinese Australian's effort and contribution to fight against racism and maintain the multicultural policies in Australia.
