Taipinghuanyuji is one of the very important books which remain comparatively complete. Its author , Leshi is an erudite and successful scholar in the beginning of Song Dynasty. In the early period of the prosperity of Song culture, he rearranges and compiles a lot of historical document, making considerable contribution to the flourishing and development of song Culture. Among his works, taipinghuanyuji,which also can serve as an reference book, is the biggest contributor and gain the highest reputation. For a long time, due to the incompleteness and obi ivion of his works, and his failure on political achievements, the record of his works were always disorderly in historical books.Even until today, there is still a need for rectification and systemization.Taipinghuanyuji has quoted numerous various materials, in which pictures and books are in a jamble. The lack of refined version causes the disorder of its resourse, and those is no thesis focusing on its value and the characteristic. All these problems, especially that of its resourse,hamper greatly its normal use and cripple its value as historical documents. therefore, the author choses its as his research orientation, concentrating on several aspects as follow : the researching condition of Leshi and taipinghuanyuji,his life story and his works,the formation of taipinghuanyuji and its influence, its resourse, and its historical value. I try to systematically assess arid set forth Leshi' s contribution on historical documents, draw some conclutions,and present some new opinions and advocation.
