The Study On He Bingsong's Doctrines Of History

He Bingsong was a well-known historian in modern China . He made great achievements both in historical theory and in historical research . Maybe , this is the first attempt to discuss his doctrines of history in Chinese historical circles .This thesis mainly recommends He Singsong's whole activity of compiling history , summarizes his theories of historical development, and discuss his theories of historiography . In his opinion , evolution is a kind of basic phenomenon of all biology, custom, organization . material condition as well as social members are the expression of social evolution . He believes that history has close relation with geography , but he opposes the theory of geographic environment determinism . He insisted that history is also a science and its research object is all foregone activity of human , which includes economy , politics , education , art , religion . He thinks history should be researched from material, culture , custom and etc , which is called the synthetical view of history . In addition , he has particular opinions on compiling historical teaching materials for students ,the character and value of history ,the process of historical research and textual research of historical data.The aim of this thesis is to comment on He Singsong's Doctrines of History , to find out its value and to evaluate his contributions to new historical doctrine . In a word , he was a great historian in modern China , his doctrines of history has important reference value today . He should hold a prominent position in history of modern Chinese historiography.
