The Study On Chen Fuchen's Doctrines Of History

Chen Fuchen ,a historian and educationist, enjoys a big fame in modern china for his great contributions to history doctrines and to history studies. This thesis will mainly be a systematic study on his doctrines of history, which has never been explored by other scholars so far, with an intention to make it the first hit in Chinese history circles.First, in the aspect of history development, Chen Fuchen claims that man's aspirations and consciousness all come from academic doctrines, which enhance the" Lun" and" Zhi" that make the starti civilization of human beings. The evolvement of life organisms is hierarchical, it isng and evolvement of life possible. Different historical periods see different geography evolvements, with the development of human group civilization, geography environment changes from physical geography into human geography. That the cause definitely leads to the result, which sometimes manifested as ''single cause, single result", sometimes "multi-cause, single result",and people incline to detect the ultimate cause and the eventual result.Secondly, in the aspect of theory of historiography, Chen Fuchen insists that history be a science, which ranks first among all the sciences. People who live in different historical periods, have different interpretations to history, thus history compiling can not be separated from its time. That history is the history of the people, for the people, so it should not only be limited to few VIPS of the time; the objects of history research will always be the people, all the people and the society, the whole society they live in. That adequate attention should be paid to the style of history book compiling, whose methods and procedures can be described into investigation,. district, classification and proportion. That all the rights concerned with history book compiling must be entitled to the historians themselves; there is no supervision, no interference should be involved in the process of history book compiling.In brief, the nucleus of Chen Fuchen's history doctrines lies in the proclaim that history is a science, in the discussion that different historical periods see different histories, in the argumentation that history is the history of the whole people, in the emphasis on the styles, methods and prodcedures of history compiling, in the importance of totally free-supervised compiling fights for the historians.The aim of this thesis is to make a starting systematic study on Chen Fuchen's doctrines of history, so as to find out its values and to evaluate his contributions to new historical doctrine. In conclusion, Chen Fuchen is a great historian in modem China;who, both in the sketch and in the construction of history doctrines, has made great achievements, whose historical doctrines still possess people of important significance for reference at present, deserve a eminent position in history of modern Chinese historiography.
