A Study Of The Literary Achievement In Jin Yu

As we all know, GuoYu is a masterpiece of biographically historic literature about Pre-Qin period. JinYu, an important part of GuoYu, recorded the history of Jin of more than three hundred years.From the perspective of biographically historic literature, the author of JinYu used the writing methods in ShangShu for reference, further made a prominent progress. Using the unique language style and many.other creative writing skills, the author recorded some historic events and meanwhile gave a vivid description of many distinctive characters in JinYu. In fact, many features of JinYu, such as, the choice of writing materials, the structure of its articles, the arrangement of the plots and the usage of language, are all fallen heir to later biographically historic literatures, for example, the famous book of historiography, ShiJi. Moreover, under the influence of ShangShu, the author consciously concentrated some chapters for depicting certain characters only, which is the actual pioneer of the biography in ShiJi.In short, certain preliminary literary consciousness was reflected in JinYu. Some artistic features were also conveyed in its events' .recording, characters' depicting and remarks' noting, and which was of certain literary and aesthetic value. Thus, as an intermediary, Jin Yu cast enormous impacts on later biographically historic literatures, and therefore, engraved its role in the history of biographically historic literature.
