The Comparison Of Social Problem Drama Between Hushi And Jinyouzhen's Work --"To Get Married" And "Liyougnv

This paper' s title is the comparison of social problem drama between Hushi and Jinyouzhen' s work?'TO get married' and 'Liyougnv'Influenced by western social problem dramas, the problem dramas among Chinese and Korean modern literary works created their special aesthetic model which meets the need of modern human spirit and culture. So, influenced by henrik ?Ibsen and Bernard ?shaw' s drama theory, China* s hushi and korea' s Jinyouzhen created the first social problem drama in their country respectively. Their works 'To get married' (1919) and 'Liyougnv' (1925) all adopted the main theme of social problem drama (i.e. the problems of women rights) to reflect the society of that time. This paper is to compare the common between the two works. Though there' s no direct relation ship between the two writers. And this research fills the blank space of this field of comparison.This paper studies the writers' reception and creation of the social problem drama in the light of parallel approach and influential approach tries to find the innate relationship between their aims. Through their reception process of western social problem drama, this paper explains why the two writers used the same art form and why they both focused on the women rights.The two writers didn' t create without caring the nature of problem drama. They emphasized the reflection of reality and the conflict between individual and society. They picked the typical elements of theme, materials and characters and pared a special way of social problem drama creation respectively in their countries. The works are confined by the social problem drama creation principles, so they can be considered as pure social problem dramas.Hushi's reception and creation process can be summarized as: social reform; to awaken the audiences; think and act in the same way.Jin you zhen' s reception and creation process can be summarized as: drama reform; to arouse pity; think and act in different way.
