Lawrence is one of the most important and most controversial writers of the 20th century in Britain. Lawrence's works were introduced to China in the 1930s. The spreading and influence of his works in China were very limited in 1930s to 1970s because of the specific political background of Chinese society.The propagation and researching of Lawrence's works enter into a brand-new period in China during the eighties and nineties of 20th century, and it produced a deep influence on the Chinese literary creation at the same time. During the eighties and nineties of 20th century, The propagation of Lawrence in China goes through three stages. They were the periods of introducing again, developing gradually and deepening systematically. The translation and introducing of Lawrence move toward from the part to the whole and from the superficial to the deep layer. Lawrence's impact on Chinese literary creation is deep in the 80's and the 90's. His influence is on three main aspects: The positive impact on the theme of sexual love and the negative influence on the sex overflow and the technique influence on sexual love representative of Chinese literary.Lawrence is a great writer who not only belongs to the past but also belongs to the future. The further investigation of Lawrence is the needs of both the Chinese and Western cultural exchanges and the prospering of the research and creation of Chinese literature.
