Language is an old but a new topic as well in the history of western philosophy. From Aristotle on, it became the focus of many phosphors. Especially, from the recent time on, following the crisis of the metaphysic theory, the research of man's inner world and of the living world's significance have stood out, which began with the analysis of language. So the problem of language became the core topic, and various linguistic philosophies that were based on language analyzed came into being. While Heidegger combined language with Being closely. "Language is the home of Being" is a very famous viewpoint of his, which also made him being the creator of the ontological language.1 will try to make a comprehensive introduction of Heidegger's language thought by reading the book On the way to the language in this thesis. The whole thesis is divided into three chapters. The first one is mainly talk about the method he questioned the ontological language. It is a kind of method like Socrates, which led the problem to the deep gradually by questioning and refuting constantly. Although it can't offer the definite answer, it can lead the thought to the way. The second part mainly generalizes his latter's several main language thought. It is generalized as follow: to bring the one which actual as language to the language, that is, from Sage to man's language. The third one is main the rethinking and appraising about Heidegger's language thought, in the history of western philosophy and in the realistic society. The effect is profound, but it has limitation of itself.
