Value Is Losing In The Wasteland Of Mass Culture

Mass culture begins to develop rapidly from the day of emerging. Under the globalization background, ones that is with western mass culture pour into in a large amount nowadays, mass culture of China is more plural , complicate, and there is tendency of growing in intensity .Mass culture has both advantages and disadvantages .In one hand ,it brings us democracy and freedom .In the other hand ,it opens the "magic box" of "Pan Duola" . Its negative effect can't be ignored. The thesis muses on the impacts of mass culture on the Youth's value -orientation in a social and cultural critical review.The thesis consists of three parts, the preface, the main body and the epilogue. The preface defines what is "mass culture" and what is "value orientation", supplies the research background ,puts forward the argumentation ,and presents the objectives and significances of the research.The main body is divided into seven parts , which analyze the impacts of mass culture on the Youth's value-orientation on the aspects of politics, economy, life, morals, aesthetic, marriage and love affair, and belief. That is the value-orientation of politics is heading for verge; the value-orientation of economy is heading for material gain; the value-orientation of life is heading for pleasure ; the value-orientation of morals is heading for degradation; the value-orientation of aesthetic is heading for fashion , secular, and perceptual; the value-orientation of marriage and love affair is heading for snack ; and the value-orientation of belief is sinking into worshipping star.The epilogue is a sum-up of the thesis. It analyzes the reason that mass culture impacts on the Youth's value-orientation ,and presents some countermeasures.
