This thesis attempts, based en the translation, prevalence and development of the theory of Freud in China as a clue, from the angle of its influence and comparison, to analyze the process of Freudianism's being acceptance and transformation in China; the internal requirement of Chinese literature and cultural elements taken to Chinese literature by Freudianism; the specific methods and complicated process of its influence. There are three parts in this thesis. The first part focuses on the theoretical journal of Freudianism in China; the second part, the correspondence between the theory of Freudianism and the autochthonous literary criticism; and the third part, the exploration of Freudianism's influence on the veer of Chinese literary criticism specifically from the angle of 20th -Century Chinese literary aesthetics. The psychological analysis with Freudianism as the representative used to attain twice forceful reverberation in the Chinese literary field in 20th Century, which is the result of the active election by Chinese theoretical field. The theory of Freudian psychoanalysis emphasizing humankind natural essence is interpreted as a kind of spiritual weapon against feodal and for the liberation of human nature. Such kind of utilitarian selection and acceptance as a tool is related with the renaissance of human reason and the liberation of human nature with the exoteric China; therefore, it appears legally with the precondition of the mutual selection between the object and the subject during the cross-cultural communication. The object supplies itself with selectability, and the subject's internal spiritual structureand preexistent purposes arouses its selection impetus. The legalization of Freudian influence on Chinese aesthetics is focused on the period of the May-the-Fourth and the New Period, who emphasizes from writers' internal psychological system on the understanding of arts nature that human instinct especially sexual instinct is regarded as the impetus of artistic creation. Freud's achievements on unconsciousness' influence on human aesthetic exercises and artistic creation lead to a broad influence on the aesthetics of the New Period which makes further the understanding of the complexity, abundance and development of beauty, aesthetics and artistic, literary creation.Nevertheless, because of the strong limitation of cultural background, way of thinking, axiology and politics of that time, Freudian influence on Chinese literature is scattered without a certain cultural philosophical conception for Chinese theorists and writers to understand and accept. Therefore, neither the creativeness or the sense of revolution, nor its limitation is abundantly developed in Chinese literature.
