Having reviewed the investigation of notetaking strategy's history and current studies and involving modern cognitive psychology, especially the information-processing theory, this study, which is based on the notetaking's generative hypothesis, put forward a new type of notetaking model, generative notetaking. This model is divided into three parts: the record of information points, text semantic map and the summarization and estimation of the learned text. By training interference, after-measure and delay-measure on the experimental group and non-training interference, after-measure and delay-measure on the controlled group, this study shows the generative notetaking contains much more information points than traditional notetaking, liner notetaking and matrix notetaking, although there is no difference among the quantities hold by liner notetaking, matrix notetaking and generative notetaking. In the immediately test, in the factual knowledge test, generative notetaking help the group of student get higher scores than traditional notetaking group but as much as the other two notetaking group while in the comprehensive knowledge test, the generative notetaking group get the highest score. In the delay-test, whatever the quantity of the whole information points and key points, the generative notetaking contains much more than the other three.All above proved that the generative notetaking, by employing valuable notetaking formats, can help the students form systematic knowledge and has a more positive effect on memorizing the studying matter, retention and retrieval in the long-memory.
