Content: "Slavery" is a dark phenomena which has been existing in China for thousands of years and "slavishness" is a deep-rooted disease in the character of Chinese people, so" protest against slavery "became a vital literature subject during the enlightenment period of last century. But due to historical and political reasons, this subject didn't get its good continuation in Chinese current literature until the appearance of WangXiaoBo. As a free professional writer out of the system, WangXiaoBo conducted "opposition-to-slavery-by-freedom" and"opposition-to-slavery-by-literature" fight with his pen after ChenYinKe and Guzhun. In his unique life style and writing style, he overtook the continuation of this literature subject. This thesis will trace WangXiaoBo's spiritual resource as a keeper of the spirit of freedom and analyze the "protest" in his novels from three aspects. The first aspect is "a unique protestant", WangXiaoBo created a group of pro estants in his novels. Mr Luxun had been alert to obeying the public and deifying the public. WangXiaoBo also opposed the oppression in name of "public". Like Luxun, he wrote about a number of unique protestants who had some new characteristics over Luxun's created figures. The second aspect is the song of praise towards the sexual love of natural person. WangXiaoBo displayed the eloquent qualities of human sex by exposing the suppression and trampling of normal human sex made by abnormal history. The third aspect is a wild narrative style in his novels. WangXiaoBo often made use of the artistic ways such as exaggeration, satire and figure to make the serious setting of slavery into a series of amusing plays by the visual angle of a naughty child. Meanwhile his humorous and active language showed protestant's interests which made people to break the hard ice of slavery with a optimistic attitude."protest-against-slavery" spiritual features that his novels own match well withhis novel-creating techniques, of which, the pursuit of "amusement" and the extension of the imagination are two notable aspects. His novels have a beauty of creation and strange imagination. His experiment of writing and exploration of narration show a kind of free narration of getting rid of all the established rules so that his novels own rich spiritual qualities-the spirit of freedom, the spirit ofreason, the spirit of humor, the spirit of satire and the spirit of creation.
