| ContentHow to combine economics and ethics is an unavoidable topic in economic ethics. Amartya Sen, the winner of the 1998 Nobel Prize in economics, also worried about the disjunction between economics and ethics. He suggested that there should be a bridge to fill the gap between economics and ethics. This paper presents Amartya Sen's economic ethics thought. It includes three parts. Part One is the introduction, which examines Amartya Sen's economic ethics thought along the developing line of the unitive and disjunct relation of economics and ethics. It also presents Amartya Sen's unique view on the two subjects. Part Two analyses Amartya Sen's economic ethics thought. His thought could be regarded as an ethic framework built in economics by considering about human right. Firstly, it starts from the view of human entilement. Secondly, the framework he built realizes the combination of economics and ethics. The precondition of the realization is to accept that idea-human, the object of economics research, has an inevitable dual nature. The combination of two subjects will benefit themselves greatly. At last, looking on development freely is the conclusion of Amartya Sen's economic ethics which will be applied in social life. He provides a new thoughtway on development. Part Three is the commentaries of Amartya Sen's economic ethics thought. It summarizes and remarks on his thought dualisticly. On one hand, we should recognize that his thought is so outstanding that it illumines us a lot; on the other hand, there are also some unavoidable shortages in his economic ethics thought. We should analyze it in a scientific way.Assimilating the advanced culture critically will benefit our work greatly. To develop the socialist market economy asks us to introduce western advanced culture critically. Amartya Sen's economic ethics thought, as a new scholarship now, will promote our career enormously. We should utilize the new views to explore our own research. |
