The culture of Christianity is part of the historical culture with a long and profound influence upon the human life style , thinking orientation and their judgment of values by its powerful vitality and adaptability.Christianity originated from the slavery system in ancient Roman society , but it was made use theoretically by the feudalism ruling class in Western Europe . It had a long - lasting effect on the politics economics and ideology for over a thousand years in Western Europe . Therefore, with the development of rational criteria and the emergence of capitalism relationship of productivity , Christianity once more became a banner of capitalism which led the Western Europe into a new stage of modern science and rational research .This paper , through rational analysis of the adaptability of Christian thoughts at different historic periods , has discussed the impact of Christianity upon the social transformation in Western Europe from Early Middle Ages to Late Middle Ages .The whole paper is divided into 3 parts , namely introduction , body & conclusion .The part of introduction deals with the general information of Christianity at home & abroad , pointing out the basic idea & logical structure of the paper .The body has 2 sections , the first of which reaches into the Christianity' s influence upon the transformation of Western Europe to feudal society : In the early middle ages Western Europe , Christianity together with the traditional ruling class , had reunified the political power of Roman empire with the help of "Divine Right to govern" ;In the meanwhile , it had contributed to the ethnic unity of the Roman races and the feudalization of Western Europe ; while the other section deals with the Christianity' s impact upon the transformation of Western Europe to capitalism : in the Late Middle Ages , Western Europe , with the emergence of cities , some social changes had taken place . To fit into all these changes , Christianity quickly adapted & adjusted itself to the new environment .Conclusion: The ideology of Christianity on belief, reasons & experiences is a process of continuous development , in which inactive influence would be inevitable ; in the same time , it could adapt itself to the changing societies. Christianity has always been the spiritual forces enlighteningthe social reforms with its various forms accepted by the public . The reason to motive the social transformation in Western Europe is so complicated that we shall not stress one and ignore the rest . But as a basic principle of morality in Western Europe , Christianity' s impact shall not be neglected.
