It aims at exploring the reason that cause the calling loss and the solutions, and also has reached several conclusions as following.1. Addressing is different from the concept of calling."Addressing words" is "the nouns acquired because of status, profession, relationship of relatives and other aspects among people, such as father, master, secretary." while "Calling words" is "the nouns used in oral communication to introduce or address each other, such as comrade , brother, etc."2. There are two systems of the modern Chinese addressing : social addressing system and relative addressing system , which interact with each other, causing the mixture usage.3. In oral communication , the phenomenon that two sides or one side don't know how to address the other is the calling loss, which usually takes place in the communications between the two strangers. Some deep cultural reasons result in the calling loss, which can be regarded as the dilemma of the culture. Modern addressing system is influenced by history, culture, society, western countries' addressing system, causing different values, rules to conflict, interact. Completely new addressing system and rules are still been building.4. Building up the equal relationships among people and forming a habit of self-introduction can reduce the chances of calling loss. Calling people by name is also a good alternative.
