On Calvinism "calling"

This paper which takes Marx Weber's The Protestant Ethic and the Spirit of Capitalism as basic context studies the proposition of protestant ethic from four aspects.Firstly, the first charter discusses the necessity about social existence of protestant ethic. With the analysis of the labor problem of east Germen in agriculture, we can find that Weber analysed economic activity from idea of freedom as well as economic interest. The paper approves such idea that the attempt of Weber's writing of protestant ethic is to cultivate energetic personality of political leader of Germen.The second charter is the main charter. Firstly discuss the methodology of ideal type and the effective affinity between protestant ethic and spirit of capitalism, and then discuss Luther's concept of calling, as well as Calvinism's doctrine of predestination. With the different forms of predestination, it is essential to analyze the doctrinal significance of it.The third charter discusses the ration and rationalization under the concept of calling. And then make further discussion about ration and rationalization from two different perspectives, such as "world picture" and alienation and secularization of religion.The last charter discusses the modern reflection of the proposition of protestant ethic. First, confute the ascetic ration, for it takes emotion as disorder and unreliable factor, and do not gives emotion an appropriate position. However, emotion was regarded as culture mechanism in seventeen century. At last, as a writer, I do not agree such solution which attempts to address dishonest phenomenon from religious beliefs with the consideration of the whole society.
