On The Rural Handcraft Industry Of The Anti-Japanese Area In North China

This paper does a comprehensive study on the handcraft industry of the Anti-Japanese Area in North China. The rapid recession of the rural handcraft industry was not the continuation of the recession in the early years of 1930's. but the result of the breakout of the War of Japan' s aggression to China. During the Anti-Japanese War, with the initiation and help of the government in Anti-Japanese Area, handcraft industries recovered and developed promptly. Though some traditional handcraft industries declined, at the same time, some retained and achieved some development because they met the daily necessities of the army and the civil ians in the Anti-Japanese Area, others produced with the new raw materials to meet the needs of the war. On the basis of the traditional household sideline production and handcraft industry, A new managing system of the handcraft industry with the multi-managing forms took shape, among which, the mutual a i d and cooperat i on was most popular. The extens i on of the handcraftindustry met basically the demands of the army and the civilians, increased the income of farmers, and strengthen the economic struggle against Japan.
