On The Folk Shadow Play Of HuNan

Applying the historical-document and folk fieldwork method and researching many dialect records and text collection , the author gather quantities of Hu Nan folk shadow play data by interviewing the shadow player.The author gather quantities of textual and oral date of shadow play. On the basis of the great date, the author study the Hu Nan alterative Shadow play's source and the local branches and the relationship between the play and Hu Nan folk religion, the special play patterns and its performance. In the first part, by analysis Gujigang theory of the same source but alternative branches, the author draw a conclusion that the Hu Nan shadow play came into Qing dynasty and the Republic of China composing of local play, the Chang de Jin he shadow play and the Hen Yang Yu gu shadow play. In the second part, from tow aspects the fashion of playing for thanking for the god and the religion economy to study the relation between Hu Nan folk religion and shadow play's performance. The third chapter study the Hu Nan folk shadow play. There are two patterns integrate and flexible patter's, the former have complete pattern and can be performed by what the book says. The later compose of simple plot without spoken parts and songs, Its performance need the player memory great spoken parts and songs and make it up during the course of playing.
