On The Comparison Of The Outlook On Suitability And Advantage Of Confucius, Mencius And Xunzi

Scientific socialist Outlook on suitability and advantage and correct value orientation are the necessity and important insurance of sound development of socialist market economy,and they are also important contents of strengthening the socialist spiritual civilization. If we want to set up a Scientific socialist Outlook on suitability and advantage which has not only national characters,but also times' spirit, we must study the Confucianists Outlook on suitability and advantage which has the most influence at China history.Confucius is the founder of Confucianism, both Mencius and Xunzi are the inheritor of Confucianism in early Qin period, and they make great contribution to the development of Confucianism.Although they are all the Confucianists, they live in different historical period, and Mencius, Xunzi emphasize different facets, which cause inheritance relation on Confucius' theory, and exist some difference. Among which, difference at the Outlook on suitability and advantage is the main difference on the ideas of Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi. This paper based on "Analects of Confucius", "Mencius", "Xunzi", begin with the connotation of "suitability" and "advantage", compare and study the Outlook on suitability and advantage of Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi. The inheritance,development and difference of the Outlook on suitability and advantage of Confucius, and the main reason which influence the Outlook on suitability and advantage of Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi are studied,so some opinions and suggestions are submitted about rational composition of critically inhert the traditional Outlook on suitability and advantage in the building of socialist Outlook on suitability and advantage.By comparing, this paper thinks that it is similar in mood and concepts, but there is difference in connotation in the Outlook on suitability and advantage of Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi. Among which,many mood and concepts have already become the popular mood with Chinese characteristics,because they are continuing to be used several thousands of years. It is an effective way to set up aScientific socialist Outlook on suitability and advantage which have national characters. To do so,we must set up a new annotation explanatory and endow new content of era and apply to the construction of socialist Outlook on suitability and advantage.Confucius, Mencius and Xunzi advocate suitability is more important than advantage. The ideas which think suitability is more important than advantage and emphasize spiritual value orientation is greater than material value orientation have reference meaning today.Becauce of the confinement of historical condition , they can not make out the dialectical relation of "suitability" and "advantage",which lead to the fact of ignoring individual interests in their Outlook on suitability and advantage. In view of this, this paper suggests, we should establish a socialist Outlook on suitability and advantage with "suitability overwhelm advantage, suitability equals to advantage" base on the correct cognition of the dialectical relation of "suitability" and "advantage" and the guidance of Marx's theory.
