Recently many TV cartoons in fantasy and deity are popular widely, such as Magic Lotus Lantern : the Baoliandeng and the Legend of Ne Zha. So researching again on creating intention of Romance of Enfeoffment to Deities has some practical significance. The dissertation is divided into three parts. The first part analyzes the creating intention of the novel mainly from extension of the text. And this is elaborated in five aspects as follows: surface of text (to veil in form of Taoist deity), limit of story frame (subject on King Zhouwu sending punitive expedition against King Yinzhou), theoretical weapon (to renew Confucian revolution ideal and spirit of Pre-Qin Dynasty), reflecting social situation at that time and transcending "rebelling views" of other famous novels. It is worth mentioning that the author indicates the source of the word "Chanjiao" in the text through textual research, which is what previous reviewer didn't mention. The word "Chanjiao"is used many times in Mingshi written by Zhang Tingyu in Qing Dynasty. A few of the words "Chanjiao" in Mingshi represented granted glory that Empire "Jiajing" gave the prominent Taoist priests, such as Shao Yuanjie and his apprentice Chen Shandao. This can be illustrated its contact with late-Ming history. If the view is tenable, we may think the writer of the text had much discontent and indignation. Thereby it can offer a evidence that helps to illustrate that the writer had revolution thoughts. There are apparent evidences for which the author uses the word "revolution"/ "revolt" to summarize the text's creating intention, because the word had been a concept in our native language environment in ancient time. Its basic meaning is to subvert old political power by military force. Although Romance of Enfeoffment to Deities didn't use the word "revolution" or "revolt", it used phrases as follows: "the subordinate attack the superior" or "subjects kill sovereign" or "rebel against", etc. The phrases are virtually other expression of "revolution" meaning. Furthermore, using "revolution" can accord with original meaning of the text. History of the Various States is one out of two originalnovels of the text. There existed two phrases in which the word "revolution"/"revolt" was contained. One is "Political power of Yin Dynasty will have sign of being revolted against." The other is "God revolts against sovereign." So using "revolution'7"revolt" can accord with not only the text, but also its original novel. The second part interprets specific embodiment of "revolution" thoughts in the text from inherent angles. Firstly the writer of the text expressed the idea that lack in morality would result in revolution through portraying King Yinzhou's image. Secondly the writer reconstructed the images of King Zhouwen and King Zhouwu, standing on a traditional standpoint of Confucian intellectuals. So their images of text present much difference, compared with that of Popular stories about King Zhouwu Conquering King Yinzhou and that of History ,of the Various States respectively. The difference embodies "the Holy Complex" in the masses's hearts in traditional communities. This can make revolution legitimate and make the text obtain legitimate status in wide spread. Thirdly the writer mainly unfolded the conflict between revolution and traditional ethics including loyalty filial piety and fraternal duty through moulding images of Huang Feihu Wen Zhong Yin Jiao Yin Hong Ne Zha Chong Heihu and Chong Houhu, etc.The third part is additional remarks. It briefly discusses that the text just right revealed unconsciousness of the masses who wished for revolution coming in later period of feudalism and autocratic society in China. Finally, the author discusses the textual revolutionary thoughts' classic feature in essence. In other words, they should not belong to Confucian "new thoughts in MinBen" in accordance with Feng Tianyu's view, but belong to Confucian "old thoughts in MinBen". Of course, they weren't likely to fit into the system of revolution thoughts in the modern.I...
