Chinese poetry which possesses its unique theoretical system and ethnological characteristics has a profound tradition. However, for long time, we can not shed the shadow of western standard when we interpret the works of Chinese poem. Therefore, the originality of Chinese poetry is easily overlooked, and it's difficult for Chinese poets to speak out in international arena on an equal footing. The paper explores the root of Chinese poetic wisdom in Chinese cultural classics and unveils Chinese poets' unique way of understanding life and the universe.Zhuang Zi, one of the founding fathers of Chinese poetry inevitably becomes our focal point His value is multi-dimensional. His impact on Chinese literature and art exceed that on Chinese philosophy. The paper is designated to construe Zhuang Zi from a completely new angle, and to reveal the relationship between him and Chinese culture. Zhuang Zi could be considered in broad sense as the poet in cultural contextThe poetic character in a narrow sense in Zhuang Zi and his works, which is the poetic character of prose has been fully studied and discussed. The medium poetic character means the mind set, narration, and the way of understanding has poetry's basic distinction, such as intuition, emotion and imagination. The broad poetic character means surpassing the secular society and pursuing the possible ideal. Zhuang Zi with his profundity as a philosopher and passion as a poet, uncovered a spiritual homeland for human beings through plentiful narration from a intercourse of poetic sentiment and philosophy.Zhuang Zi's description of the spiritual homeland is actually of a kind of human existence full of poetic sentiment, which roughly includes three parts: the ideal state of the society; the ideal state of spiritual freedom; the ideal state of the harmonious coexistence of human beings.
