The connotation of the personality is theoretic foundation studying personality problem of university student. The word "personality" using in many subjects has very complex connotation, and its definite definition which can be commonly accepted by all of subjects has not been given up to the present. In Contemporary Chinese Dictionary, Three kinds of meanings of the word "personality" is marked: first, to indicate the total of a person's character, temperament and ability ,etc; second, to indicate morality; and third, to indicate host qualification that a person can be used as the right and obligation., that is to say, category of "personality" in Chinese is used in multiple meanings of mentality, moral and legal personality corresponding to above three meanings, i.e. "mentality personality" characterized by character, "moral temperament" related to personal integrity and moral quality, and "legal personality" not separated with host of law.Mentality personality is the total of stable mentality and behavior characters which a person forms in individual living and society practice. Mentality personality is characterized by integrity, individuality, biology and sociality. Moral personality meaning moral stipulation of the individual personality is total of personal value and character, which is everyone's particular stipulation distinguishing from others morally. The features of moral personality are its volition autonomy, self identity and host integrity. In legal personality is some right ensured by law and not segregated from host of law and qualification that person is used as host of the right and duty, that is, a" the person's qualifications" endowed by law. The characteristic of the legal personality is that it possess right host of independence law status, a civil case right ability as law qualification of right host and personality interest protected by law. Only to realize consistent development of three aspects of mentality personality, moral personality and legal personality can the real healthy personality be formed.Judged by present status of student in our country, it should be said that the main current is good and the most student's personality is healthy. However we must soberly realize that during the period of reform and opening and invigorating the economy people's variety values and world view should be extended or changed in direction in conflict of antinomy between modern life style and traditional notion, in alternated fluctuation different thoughts and in the harden and collision belt of multi cultures, so the student will have some inadaptation state during initiative acclimation and seeking more development, and mentality complaint of some students occur under combined action of multi inducement just in the peculiar circumstance. At the present time personality deletion of some student in our country mainly appears as mentality unbalance, deletion of morals personality and defect of law personality, and specific manifestation of mentality unbalance is that some students is very strong self-contempt, distrust, character unsociability, strong envy mind, depression, emotion irritability and playgame attitude; specific manifestation of deletion of morals personality is that some phenomena of rising of individual standard tendency to neglect collectivity, aggravation of practicality moral tendency, reduce of legal moral level, neglect of traditional virtue of hardworking and thrifty and thrift, etc, and lower basic social morality level; specific manifestation of legal personality is that some students is have not strong legal right consciousness, understand unilaterally loyalty concept, and lack legal interiorization.
