An Experimental Research On Existence Of Implicit Memory In Selecting Process Of Preferable Abstract Colors

For the time being, verities of colors involve in our everyday life and make our life colorful. Comparing with that of several decade years ago, people are more and more concerned on colorsSince the day when human being was created, colors are closely related to us. No matter where and when we are, we cannot escape from colors even for a moment. And no matter how difficult to find the reason to our favor for a certain color, researchers in many fields such as aesthetics, psychology and sociology are pouring much interest into such project. In history we can find colors were the target in the works such as the optics by Newton and the treatise on colors by GeotheIn modern age, researches on colors mainly focus on two perspectives. We know different person favors for different colors and our favors for a certain of colors are also related to a certain of factors. As the former subject concerned, it is a phenomenon that appeals to us for a long period and is comprehensively and extensively studied by scholars all over the world. Though the outcomes of the researches are different one form another, it is relieved that a certain of traditions have been formed in this field, In spite of differences at the outset, researches virtually reach a series of conclusions on colors and on the favor for colors. This may be one of a reason why such study deserves our attention and energy.Such researches on colors are based on numerous comparisons between the likeness and the unlikeness. Of all the factors researchers find that some are more important, such as character, culture, economics,1psychology and physiology. As the development of the science of cognitive psychology researchers find the remembering of a person are playing a critical role in our favor for colors. It has been proved by the researches that the implicit memory can not be neglect in the process of choosing for our favorite colors.As we mention the favor for colors, we should tell something about the abstract colors and the exterior colors. The so-called abstract colors exist in our minds, and they are never the colors that are related to concrete matter, and the so-called exterior colors are related to how we favor for them. In the researches of colors we had found it is valuable to distinguish between the two categories.With the outcome of those studies, I deliberately experiment on 124 quizzees and draw the conclusions as follows:Firstly, implicit memory indeed exists in the process of choosing for our favorite colors and it is also a important factor that effects our favor.Secondly, the mere exposure effect in the implicit memory can direct affect our favor for abstract colors.The hypothesis in this experiment is largely proved. Therefore, it can be believed that the implicit memory cannot be overlooked, and it is also a factor that affects our favorite colors. What is more important is that the mere exposure effect represents a clue in the consequent favoring for colors.In this field, there is still much that remains to be done, we are remembering we are on the road and we believe we can made it as long as we believe the science of color promising.
