The Study On German Big Cities' Municipal Recovery Campaign In Weimar Period

The Weimar Republic was founded on the base of defeat, to the new German Republic, how to recover Germany was the most important problem. After the war, the key of whether Germany could recover lied in whether cities, especially big cities, could accomplish the recovery. Processing the democratization, municipalities all pursued activism, became the most important conductor who pursuit recovery, propelled recovery into each field of society, and laid the foundations of the stabilization in the Weimar period. However, the Great Depression unexpectedly came, it blocked up the way of Weimar to recover at last. The municipal recovery campaign failed.
