Early in the twentieth century, the modern fiber art was emerged in Europe. And the representative is the weave workshop of Bauhaus in Germany. In 1960s, the International Tapestry Biennial of Lausanne, Switzerland, was founded. Follow the large holding of exhibition , the new wave of creation and study about modern fiber art was raised in 1970s and 1980s. Then the fact that fiber art is one of the artistic forms was come into being recognized and accepted by more and more people. During the course of its development, art concept, architecture style and aesthetic psychology of people are the main aspects which affect the modern fiber art deeply . In the guide of aesthetic theory and with the thread of history, this article carries the study on these aspects through comparing fiber art with other artistic forms, such as printing. The conclusion about essence and law of fiber art language as follows: The special visual language distinguished the modern fiber art itself, and the material language and structure language is the essential elements. As a kind of artistic form, the evolvement of the modern fiber art follows the universal law of art development. On the other hand, there are also some differences as follows: special visual language characteristic and more tremendous potential of exploitation.
